K&J was tasked by the Kansas City Streetcar through Benesch to design, conduct, and evaluate a tabletop exercise, to be followed by a full-scale exercise, as part of the Mainstreet and Riverfront Extension projects.

The Main Street Extension (MSE), builds upon the downtown streetcar service starter line (IOS) and further develops and advances a southward extension serving Midtown, the Plaza, and the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). Revenue service is scheduled to start in 2025.

The Riverfront Extension (RFE) extends the IOS ¾-mile north from the River Market toward the Missouri River, connecting to Berkley Riverfront Park and the new Kansas City Current soccer stadium. This extension is scheduled to enter revenue service in 2026.
