K&J offers customized Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) training tailored specifically to the unique needs of our clients and their specific projects. This training is intended for agency planners, designers, contractors, engineers, architects, and safety and security staff to assist transit agencies with the concepts and benefits of implementing a cogent CPTED focus to their Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). K & J has extensive staff and project experience in project application of CPTED techniques on projects like the CATS Blue Line Extension, Cleveland Public Square, and Honolulu HART. Additionally, K&J staff are trained and certified CPTED practitioners who have taught CPTED classes for the Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) and the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR).
